Who runs this tool

The Program Finder is operated by Community Workforce Solutions (CWS), a nonprofit based in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was built and is maintained by Seasoned AI on our behalf. When this notice says "we," it means CWS.

What you enter

The Program Finder asks a series of questions to narrow down which programs and services may apply to your situation — things like age, county, current coverage, and support needs. You answer only what you want to answer. You can stop at any point.

You do not need to give us a name, a Social Security number, a Medicaid ID number, or any medical records to use this tool. Please don't enter them.

If you don't save your results

Your answers are used to generate your results and nothing else. They stay in your own browser, on your own device, so you can pick up where you left off if you reload the page. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

We do not keep a copy of your answers, and we do not use them for research, marketing, or funding applications. We do count how many people use the tool and which programs come up most often, with nothing that identifies anyone.

If you ask us to email your results

If you use the "Email this to me" option, we use your email address once to send your results. We do not keep the address or add it to any list.

If you choose to save your results

Saving is optional, and it exists for one reason: so you can come back later without starting over. You create a free account with an email address and password. Your answers and results are attached to that account. Your email address is used only to sign you in and to send account messages, such as a password reset. Nothing else.

Saved information is used only to show you your own results.

You can delete your saved results and your account at any time. Sign in, go to My account → My details, and choose Delete account. If you have trouble, email info@nc-cws.org and we'll do it for you.

What we never do

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not send it to Medicaid, an MCO, a county office, or any other agency that decides eligibility.
• We do not use it to make decisions about you or anyone in your family.
• We do not add you to a mailing list because you used this tool.

Using the Program Finder has no effect on any application you have filed or plan to file. Nothing you enter here becomes part of your record anywhere.

This tool doesn't decide anything

The Program Finder shows you what you may qualify for and points you toward the people who make that determination. It is a starting point, not an application and not an approval. Only the programs themselves can tell you whether you qualify.

If you contact us

If you reach out to CWS after using the tool — by phone, email, or a form on this site — that conversation is handled under our regular practices for working with families, not under this notice. We'll tell you what we're recording and why.

Keeping it safe

The site uses encrypted connections. Saved accounts and results are stored encrypted on servers run by our hosting provider, in a database that is separate from every other application on that service. Each account can only see its own results. Access is limited to the people who maintain the tool.

No system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we ask you not to enter identifying numbers or medical records.

Changes to this notice

If we change how the Program Finder handles information, we will update this page and change the date below. If the change is significant, we will say so plainly rather than quietly editing the text.
